In the software industry, adaptability is critical for maintaining relevance and competitiveness. This goal is shared by the software engineering academic community, which aims for improvements in its field. However, substantive collaboration between the two still needs to be improved. This study seeks to understand the partnership between industry and academia within software engineering. To achieve this, we examine the existing literature to pinpoint existing gaps and promote the development of novel strategies that encourage collaborative projects between these two communities. This study undertakes a Tertiary Literature Review to assess the current state of collaborative research in software engineering. The preliminary findings of our study unveil the specific subjects that garner attention within the academic community. Additionally, we have pinpointed emerging research avenues and practical insights that enrich the empirical evidence concerning the current state of Industry-Academia Collaboration in software engineering. Despite the inherent challenges in collaborative endeavors, the growing number of publications on this topic is a positive indicator. This study has revealed practical knowledge that can help researchers, educators, and practitioners foster improved collaboration and innovation in software engineering.

摘要
