Insider threats have become one of the most pressing issues in organizational cybersecurity. They originate from within an organization and are perpetrated by personnel with legal permissions in the system’s normal operations. Increasing internal attacks lead to further consequences within the organization. In addition, organizations fail to understand the interplay between psychological, social, and organizational aspects leading to insider threats. In this research proposal, we investigate the various kinds of insider threats organizations face and the effectiveness of the methods adopted to combat threats.
