Security and Privacy Research on Muslim Communities: A Literature Review

Security and privacy research on marginalized population such as Muslim communities is an emerging topic. The cultural context and religious norms of these communities emphasize the need for studying security and privacy on this population. This paper provides an overview of the existing literature on this topic by summarizing findings from 28 papers focused on studying the security and privacy perceptions, practices, and comprehension of this population. It discusses the unique challenges faced by researchers when investigating this population both for general HCI research as well as for security and privacy.
