This research aims to assess the coherence of social harmony in urban neighbourhoods of the Gulf region, with a special emphasis on the United Arab Emirates. The study also identifies the significant barriers to ensuring social sustainability in the urban neighbourhoods. It emphasizes the importance of social sustainability in urban planning, ensuring communities are economically and environmentally sustainable while also promoting social contact, communal cohesion, and overall well-being. The study uses a comprehensive literature analysis to assess the coherence of social harmony in the Gulf region’s urban neighbourhoods, highlighting the need for environmentally friendly urban design techniques that respect regional culture and promote communal harmony.
