Micrometric motion or micromotion for short, which is not essentially limited to a motion of a few micrometers, lends itself to being amplified in power and/or effort into a usable command or effort, for attaining the required system dynamibility. The command or effort may be fluid power to operate actuators, speed-ratio for CVT controls, load-sharing in split-power-path gearing, fluid film squeezing in damping devices, hydrostatic load bearing, or others.
