The Theoretical Foundation of Society 5.0 and Digital Transformation in Education and Skill Development
摘要
This theoretical chapter provides a pedagogy based on the foundational principles of Society 5.0 and its influence on digital transformation in the education sector. Society 5.0 was conceptualized in Japan and is characterized by the need to address societal problems through the integration of human-centered values and advanced technologies in a fast-evolving technological transformation. In this case, various digital tools and concepts such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics are analyzed to understand their impact on innovative educational frameworks. Through the integration of various theories of digital and experiential learning, this chapter underlines the transformative potential of new enhanced digital technologies in facilitating a sustainable and adaptable environment for learners. This chapter also advocates for the need for schools and all educational institutions to acquire a collective and interdisciplinary approach to prepare learners and students for the workforce in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Overall, integrating educational practices with the principles of Society 5.0 is important for fostering an adaptable and innovative society.
