The Age of Reimagined Power: Leadership, Influence, Politics, and Inclusion Through the Lens of “The Lion and the Jewel”—A New Leadership Blueprint
摘要
This chapter examines how leadership, influence, and inclusion are reimagined in the contemporary age by drawing on Soyinka’s The Lion and the Jewel as a cultural and metaphorical lens. It explores how transformational leadership theory intersects with indigenous philosophies such as Omoluabi and Ubuntu to illuminate ethical and relational dimensions of power. By linking traditional narratives with modern leadership challenges—including digital transformation, intersectionality, and global crises—the chapter highlights the continuing importance of cultural context in shaping leadership practice. The analysis integrates cross-cultural theory, crisis leadership insights, and case studies of political leaders to illustrate both the promises and pitfalls of power in a fragmented world. Overall, it argues for a leadership paradigm rooted in inclusivity, ethical responsibility, and cultural intelligence.
