Research on Immersive and Interactive Prototype Design for Farming and Weaving Pictures in Ancient China in Virtual Reality Environment
摘要
Chinese farming and weaving pictures (FWPs) face challenges in comprehension, presentation limitations, and underutilization of digitization. This study seeks to address these issues by leveraging Virtual Reality (VR) technology to enhance the promotion of traditional Chinese culture depicted in these artworks. Through a literature review, it examines the characteristics of FWPs and the advantages of VR in painting display. A multi-case study of 17 VR-enabled applications related to famous paintings is conducted, with a focus on the representative Pictures as a case for an immersive, interactive prototype design. The proposed VR prototype features five key functions: painting display, environmental navigation, farming tool interaction, basic mode, and advanced mode. This research offers theoretical insights into the design of VR-enhanced painting displays, innovating the presentation of FWPs and facilitating the widespread dissemination of ancient Chinese farming culture.
