The potential for blockchain technologies to help countries in the global South transform their economies is explored in this case study on Lebanon. Lebanon experienced hyperinflation due to the failure of its central bank. Based on these experiences, we sketch a possible deployment of blockchain technologies in Lebanon based on stablecoins that would enforce transparency for the central bank of Lebanon.
