IDook: Empowering Labor Unions with Decentralized Digital Identities
摘要
This article presents IDook, an innovative blockchain-based solution designed to empower non-profit organizations and labor unions through secure and verifiable self-sovereign identity (SSI). The project’s primary objective is to develop a technological framework that enables these entities to create and manage decentralized digital identities on the blockchain, thereby enhancing the trust and transparency of organizations. The results validated the technical viability of the blockchain solution, employing open-source technologies including the VON network (based on Hyperledger Indy), with agent implementation using Hyperledger Aries Cloud Agent Python (ACA-Py). Key results include credential issuance by unions, blockchain network configuration, Aries agent evaluation, and wallet integration. Notably, the blockchain works as a decentralized repository, supporting the issuance and verification of credentials. The IDook prototype, hosted on AWS, is compatible with multiple digital identity wallets, reinforcing the principles of SSI.
