One of the main strategies for the development of the automotive industry in the Russian Federation is the development of technological sovereignty. This market is international and integrated; it is quite difficult to develop production in the absence of free competition and technology exchange. The imposition of sanctions led to a significant reduction in the supply of major components from European and American partners, as well as the closure of some factories. Russian collectors have shifted their focus from the West to the East, particularly to China. A change of partner will not change the dependence of Russia on nodes and components for the production of cars. The situation is aggravated by the lack of proprietary technologies, staff leakage, and an underdeveloped production base. Since 2022, China has become one of Russia’s main partners in parallel import deliveries. Chinese brands have taken a dominant position in the Russian new car market. Nevertheless, they are not interested in localizing production due to the high costs involved. Electric cars have become a significant player in the market; they can potentially displace traditional cars. However, the main challenge lies in developing charging infrastructure, which many countries face difficulties with.

One of the main strategies for the development of the automotive industry in the Russian Federation is the development of technological sovereignty.
