One type of waste that contributes to the increase of waste is exhibition waste, generated by large expo, trade shows and fairs. Excessive and irresponsibly planned booth and exhibition stand designs are one of the causes of environmental pollution. Following UN Sustainable Development Goals for Sustainable Cities and Communities, in relation to poor air quality and waste management, this study will look closely at another solution for waste exhibitions to be recycled and used for other useful products. The aim of this study is to minimize exhibition waste using intelligent technology to speed up the waste sorting process and upcycle them into products that have new use and function, such as interior and accessories items suitable for household needs by using qualitative method and design thinking approach. The result is a prototype of step stool made of exhibition waste for household use. This solution is also in line with circular economic theory that aims to keep products, components and material even though already been used, can be reused at their highest utility and value following the concept of sustainability design.

摘要
