Adopting Agile Project Management: Elevating Innovation and Sustainability in Indonesia’s Telecommunications Sector

Digitization has evolved the Indonesian telecommunications sector, where companies compete to streamline operations and gain opportunities. Many Indonesian telecommunications giants have implemented agility in their practices, showing impressive results in terms of customer satisfaction, cost savings, and downtime reduction. Alongside Agile Project Management, sustainable practices are also gaining significant traction, pushing companies to introduce innovative project management methodologies and comprehensive training programs in the pursuit of building resilience and adaptability in their operations. This study explores the implementation of agile project management in the telecommunications industry through a qualitative study. Through the interview analysis, three themes emerged: agile mindset, framework, and product delivery. The findings suggested that team factors stood out as the most prominent factor that contributes to agile effectiveness, which is essential to achieve quantitative success metrics such as timely delivery and revenue fulfillment. With the integration of an agile mindset and an emphasis on team dynamics, telecommunication allows the company to navigate the complexities of the business landscape.
