Posterior Dynamic Systems as Facet Replacement System
摘要
Posterior pedicle screw stabilization with spinal fusion is the standard procedure for preventing segmental instability after decompression in surgeries addressing conditions like spinal stenosis, facet hypertrophy, and degenerative disc disease. However, due to the potential limitations associated with restricted motion and the risk of adjacent segment disease, several pedicle-screw-based dynamic systems have been developed to restore normal segmental motion. These systems aim to replicate the natural motion of intervertebral discs and facet joints. The biomechanical characteristics of these systems, their impact on spinal kinematics, and their comparative analysis are currently under investigation through in vitro studies. Spinal surgeons should carefully consider the biomechanical properties and clinical trial results when determining the most suitable system for individual patients.
