The DYNESYS® stabilization technique has many advantages, but the dynamic stabilization system is not without its own set of complications. From the analysis of the literature, there are chances of complications like pedicle screw loosening, surgical site infections, and adjacent segment disease (ASD), with possible revision surgeries. The DYNESYS® system appears to have a similar complication rate profile compared with the published literature on lumbar fusion but is associated with a lower incidence of ASD compared to rigid lumbar constructs.
