Indications of Dynamic Stabilization Without Fusion
摘要
Dynamic stabilization with the DYNESYS system is indicated for mobile and self-reducible lesions when they occur during disc degeneration. The main indication for DYNESYS is represented by instability, i.e., dynamic instability in the early stages of disc degeneration; in this disease, the consequences are represented by dynamic stenosis or stenosis with degenerative olisthesis. Another indication for DYNESYS is represented by mono- or multi-segmental degenerative disc disease, causing lower back pain as well as iatrogenic instability following decompression. Additional indications are multilevel decompression for stenoinstability of the lumbar spine or elderly scoliotic deformities, often combined with multi-segmental disc degeneration.
