Revolutionizing Beekeeping: IoT-Driven Remote Hive Monitoring for Sustainable and Proactive Apiculture Management
摘要
This work focuses on remote hive monitoring using Internet of Things (IoT) technology on beekeeping. Since then, beekeeping has become dependent on IoT for the pollination and honey production. With data on hive conditions now being available to beekeepers, real time data is available. This study reveals that remote monitoring is also an effective method of proactive hive management and early detection of problems that ordinary beekeeping fails to solve. It explains the elements of vibration, audio, temperature, humidity, hive weight, and other sensors, which are parts of remote monitoring systems. Each small sensor contributes to a deep learning of hives’ behavior and health. By permitting real time data transmission, beekeepers can make real time wise choices to intervene in hive which consequently improves the practices of overall hive management. Also, the benefits of remote monitoring are presented in improving production, resource efficiency, and early problem discovery. An early detection of diseases and pests will reduce the effect on bee colonies and this will save resources because there is less need of frequent physical inspections. Live data analytics of hive management leads to higher production levels. Data security along with implementation costs and education for beekeepers represent recognized issues in these efforts. This is to ensure a future viability for apiculture through a symbiotic link to traditional beekeeping expertise with today’s newest Internet of Things innovations. The research brings to light the crucial need for distant hive supervision.
