Vision for the Future of Agriculture
摘要
The agricultural systems are changing drastically due to the invention of several tools, techniques, and strategies in cultivation systems. It is observed that the development of agricultural systems and cultivation ways is due to the integration of technologies in the agricultural systems. Among the technologies, Information Technology and Computing are rapidly changing the entire arena of Agricultural Systems. It is expected that in the next 30 years, the agricultural system will move into more sustainable and techno-dependent agricultural systems, which will empower next-generation crop production, pre-production, and post-production systems of agriculture, including supply chain management as per the global requirements of the food and crop systems. The economic development truly depends on solid agricultural practice, and therefore, today, apart from individual and family agricultural professions, industrial and company-based agricultural or cultivation methods have emerged. The new age the agricultural systems is emerging to offer the required amount of food to the community in the future years. Global population growth has increased, and it is expected that worldwide, more than 60% of food is required to produce according to FAO reports. Due to this change and requirements, several technologies of IT are emerging, and among these, important are AI and ML, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data Analytics, etc., and as a result, several new types of agricultural systems have been developed, like smart agriculture, digital agriculture, sustainable agricultureSustainable agriculture, etc. Several newer methods like vertical agriculture, micro farming, precision farming, genetic farming, and generative farming are emerging, and several associations, governments are gradually engaging in such types of methods. This chapter is dedicated to identifying the past and especially the future of agricultural systems, including methods, technologies, and tools employed in agricultural systems.
