This chapter extends the design of generalized functional observers for a class of time-delay systems considered in Chap. 15 to include unknown inputs. Thus, the designed generalized functional observers are now required to be insensitive to an external disturbance vector. This problem arises from the unknown input estimation problem of time-delay systems with more than one unknown input. We provide generalized observer existence conditions and demonstrate the design of generalized functional observers via some numerical examples.
