This chapter considers the problem of designing a generalized functional observer to estimate a generalized functional \(z_{\tau h}(t)=Fx(t)+F_dx(t-\tau )+F_hx(t-h)\) of a time-delay with two non-commensurate delays, \(\tau \) and h, in the state and output vectors. Thanks to our unified framework, we can readily obtain observer existence conditions, and via three numerical examples, we demonstrate in detail the design of various types of generalized functional observers.
