Generalized Observers–Multiple Delays in State and Output Vectors

This chapter considers the design of generalized functional observers for time-delay systems with multiple delays in both the state and output vectors. For this class of time-delay systems, we design generalized functional observers to directly estimate a generalized functional \(z(t)=Fx(t)+F_dx(t-\tau )+F_{dd}x(t-2\tau )+F_{3d}x(t-3\tau )\) . Via various numerical examples, we show how such generalized functional observers can be designed and their advantages.
