This chapter explores the role of automated video decomposition, key visual element extraction, and enhancement in countering disinformation. We introduce a structured pipeline for segmenting videos, selecting representative keyframes, then detecting and enhancing critical visual features—such as faces and text. By leveraging advanced computer vision techniques, including temporal segmentation, object detection, multi-object tracking, and image enhancement, we optimise the verification process while balancing computational efficiency. Our pipeline integrates lightweight, high‑accuracy components and key optimisations—object grouping plus on‑demand enhancement of only selected items. These measures slash redundancy while preserving accuracy. We also discuss deploying the system as a web service to ensure accessibility for journalists, researchers, and media analysts. Through extensive evaluation, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in improving verification speed and reliability.
