Pigmented Lesions

This chapter examines pigmented lesions of the oral mucosa, covering their aetiology, clinical features, diagnostic approaches, and management. Pigmented lesions arise from diverse causes, including physiological melanin deposition, exogenous sources (e.g. amalgam tattoos), systemic diseases (e.g. Addison’s disease), and neoplastic conditions (e.g. oral melanoma).
