While researching and writing this book, life itself intervened—sometimes with devastation, sometimes with unexpected creativity. What followed were not interruptions, but flows—movements that carried thought, emotion and fieldwork along unpredictable currents, much like the stories Borges et al. (2007) once imagined drifting through infinite seas of time. In this chapter, I follow those flows as they surfaced upon the same waters where oceanic and cultural heritage literatures meet. There, at the confluence of memory, imagination and salt, new ways of knowing began to take shape—methods not designed in advance, but overflowing the boundaries of method itself.

摘要
