In this article I want to alter the agenda-setting in relations ‘football and politics’ by applying a repertoire of the main types of interpreting the concept of ‘political action’ (see Chapter 1) towards asking how political action might be present in football or which ideal-typical criteria for political action have been used in actual controversies. My empirical study concerns the controversy around the UEFA European Championship in 2021 regarding the use of the rainbow colours in the city of Munich on the day of the Hungary-Germany match.
