This paper is an attempt to provide a technological solution to mitigate the mental health crisis among the prison personnel across globe by leveraging the technology of artificial intelligence. The paper can be studied in two parts, first from the administrative point of view and second from the technological point. It begins by describing the nature of the job of prison personnel and their working environment, and how it has an adverse impact on their mental health. The first section of this paper is concluded by painting a picture of the life of prison personnel within and outside the prison walls. Proceeding with technological section of this research, the paper provides a detailed analysis of the technology of chatbot and a glimpse into the utility of AI driven chatbots throughout the globe across various industries. Further in this paper, the idea of specially designed chatbot (MIbot) is introduced and how this chatbot which would be tailored keeping in mind the mental health care requirements of the prison personnel can contribute to mitigating the mental health crisis among the prison staff by providing a safe space of expression and communication.
