Leading Change: A Modern Analysis of Transformational Vs. Transactional Leadership

This paper examines the differences between two prevailing leadership approaches which are transformational leadership and transactional leadership. Analysis of leadership styles on employee motivation performance and organizational transformation in current complex organizational environments has gained critical importance because of environmental changes. The paper examines real-world implementations by using a qualitative assessment method to analyze outcomes and drawbacks of different leadership styles in various sectors. Research indicates that transactional leadership generates optimal operational performance in present times but future development together with innovative growth requires transformational leadership. This study examines the deployment of leadership paradigms individually and jointly depending on changing situational needs. To attain resilience along with competitive benefits in evolving business settings organizations must implement adaptive leadership through the combination of transformational and transactional elements.
