Study of the Vertical Dynamics of a Platform Wagon Loaded by a Removable Module for Transportation of Long Goods

Railway transport represents an effective kind of good transport for middle as well as long distances. There are several types of freight wagons depending on the transported goods. A design of a removable module for transportation of long goods on a platform wagon is proposed. Freight wagons are exposed to dynamic loads during their operation. These dynamic effects are different for various types of goods. The presented research is aimed at a design of a removable module, which is intended to be mounted on a platform wagon. The designed module allows to transport long goods. As it is a bearing structure of a wagon, it should be analyzed from the dynamics point of view. A computational model of the designed removable module was created to assess the vertical dynamics indicators for the loaded state of the platform wagon. It is considered that the movement is carried out by contact unevenness. There were three outputs, based on which the vertical dynamics of the wagon was assessed. The dynamics was evaluated based on accelerations in the center of gravity of the wagon, accelerations in the areas of the platform wagon mounting on the bogies and the coefficient of vertical dynamics. The movement of the platform wagon for a loaded state was rated as “excellent”. Transportation of these removable modules by rail transport meets the safety criteria.
