This chapter explores state-of-the-art AI applications in dentistry, including deep learning models for automated caries detection from radiographs, AI-assisted diagnosis of periodontal disease using clinical and imaging data, and early detection of pediatric dental conditions. These technologies enable faster, more consistent diagnoses, support clinical decision-making, and expand access to care, particularly in underserved populations. By improving early identification and intervention, AI holds the potential to significantly reduce the burden of oral diseases and improve long-term oral health outcomes.
