Oral-Systemic Health Interactions
摘要
This chapter examines the interconnected relationships between oral health and systemic diseases, including diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular conditions, chronic kidney disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. It highlights the role of periodontitis in adverse pregnancy outcomes and aspiration pneumonia, and the influence of oral hygiene on overall health and nutrition. Through observational studies on type 2 diabetes and coronary heart disease, the chapter highlights the importance of integrated management approaches. Clinical and public health implications are discussed, advocating for coordinated care strategies that address both oral and systemic health to improve patient outcomes.
