Rotary International has played a significant role in community development through its funded projects, particularly in underdeveloped and semi-urban regions. This study examines the impact of Rotary International-funded projects on community empowerment in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, India. The research explores how these initiatives contribute to social, economic, and educational development, fostering self-sufficiency and improved quality of life. The study adopts a mixed-methods approach, utilizing surveys, interviews, and case studies to assess the effectiveness of Rotary-funded interventions in key areas such as healthcare, education, vocational training, and infrastructure development. Special emphasis is placed on analyzing how these projects enhance skill development, women’s empowerment, and access to essential services. The findings highlight the role of Rotary projects in addressing local challenges, bridging gaps in government services, and fostering sustainable development through community participation. The results indicate that Rotary International-funded projects have significantly improved literacy rates, healthcare accessibility, and employment opportunities in the region. However, challenges such as sustainability, dependency on external funding, and project scalability remain areas of concern. The study suggests policy recommendations to enhance the long-term impact of these initiatives, including greater stakeholder involvement, improved monitoring mechanisms, and integration with government programs. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, NGOs, and community leaders seeking to replicate successful models of community empowerment. By understanding the effectiveness of Rotary-funded projects, stakeholders can develop more targeted and impactful interventions to promote sustainable development in similar regions.
