Cloud Computing and IoT for Data Collection and Analysis: A Case of Study in Poultry Farms
摘要
In El Salvador, poultry farming is the main producer of the protein consumed in the country. That is why a study that includes the collection and analysis of environmental parameters to discover how they affect the growth of chickens is very relevant. This work presents a solution based on Cloud Computing (CC) and the Internet of Things (IoT) that allows collecting and storing environmental parameters such as ammonia (NH3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), light intensity, temperature, and humidity. The main objective of this system is to provide an economical and effective tool to provide visibility of the monitoring data of the aforementioned parameters. The case study of this research was carried out over a period of 42 days in an experimental veterinary field managed by the Universidad Salvadoreña Alberto Masferrer. One of the main results is that we now have El Salvador’s own data on environmental parameters and can make studies and interpretations on how these parameters affect broiler growth.
