Due to the performance limitations of 5G to meet certain criteria, the sixth-generation (6G) will establish new standards for mobile communications. As distinctive applications need support, the requirement for intelligent networks has increased abruptly, with ultra-low latency, extremely fast network connectivity, and assistance for a huge number of devices. It is anticipated that innovative approaches will fuel the increase in support for a fast-expanding variety of intelligent devices and applications. Inspired by the progress of numerous applications in extensive connectivity, upcoming networks are undergoing advancements and technological innovations for mobile communications that surpass the capabilities of fifth-generation (B5G) networks. In this review, the major technological breakthroughs are mentioned and highlighted along with application requirements. This paper also examines current 6G network operating patterns and probable future advancements. The goal of the article is to provide a review of 6G mobile communication technology, taking into account both current and upcoming developments.
