Automated IoT Water Management System for Multi-story Buildings in Smart Cities
摘要
As water scarcity rises and sustainable resource management becomes crucial, developing an automatic system to monitor water levels and storage is essential. The challenge lies in efficiently managing water distribution and storage in buildings or comparable situations, where manual monitoring may lead to inefficiencies, wastage, and potential shortages. To overcome these challenges, in this work, an automated system tailored to monitor water levels and water storage is proposed. This system integrates different sensors and actuators, including water flow sensors, ultrasonic sensors, solenoid valves, and a water pump, to automate water level monitoring and control. An ESP32 microcontroller is used to facilitate the integration and communication between these components. Through real-time data collection and dynamic adjustment of water flow rates, the system ensures optimal water usage while preventing overflow and underflow conditions. The proposed work increases the efficiency of water management and provides a scalable solution to the immediate challenge of water scarcity, ultimately contributing to long-term environmental sustainability and resource resilience in urban areas.
