Over the course of the twenty-first century, the field of ‘artificial intelligence (AI)’ has expanded more quickly, driven by both bio-evolution and human natural intelligence. Complexity, dynamicity, and connectivity are all growing in today's production systems. Because of the numerous unknowns and interdependencies that exist, manufacturing operations encounter issues of highly nonlinear and stochastic activity. Cutting-edge analytics solutions for handling the massive volumes of manufacturing data created by recent advances in AI, particularly machine learning (ML), have demonstrated enormous potential to alter the manufacturing domain. Including designing and plan of production systems, creating processes, optimizing, controlling quality, upkeep, mechanized assembling and disassembling, and more, this study showcases AI's uses in manufacturing. The study also provides a summary of common manufacturing issues, along with AI solutions that address them, and it offers a roadmap for future research aimed at utilizing AI to achieve smart manufacturing.
