Guided Wave Propagation in Elastic Meta-Plates with Voids and Surface Irregularities

A class of laminated elastic metamaterials or meta-plates with arrays of voids and surface irregularities is considered. Using the developed mathematical models, the configurations providing bands-gaps and guided waves conversion have been investigated. Several samples of the considered elastic metamaterials have been fabricated for experimental verification using laser Doppler vibrometry. Wave propagation in the considered elastic meta-plates is analyzed, and the influence of the introduction of internal and surface irregularities is discussed.
