The incidence of pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is rising, with earlier diagnosis worldwide. Intestinal ultrasound (IUS) has emerged as a preferred radiation-free, cost-effective tool for assessing disease activity, location, and complications. Intestinal ultrasound proves to be a valuable tool in the diagnosis and monitoring of IBD, particularly in the pediatric population, where alternative noninvasive methods present challenges. In light of this, this chapter provides guidance and a comprehensive overview of the existing data in intestinal ultrasound on the pediatric IBD population.
