Path to Informed Consent

Data is rampant throughout healthcare systems. Consumers have various concerns about data use ranging from privacy to uses in future research and consumer AI tools, which they may find objectionable. There is a push and pull between privacy, cybersecurity, and unjust enrichment on the one hand, and the desire to ease data sharing for training new AI models on the other. This chapter looks at disclosures concerning the collection, security, and use of data.
