Outreach and Engagement
摘要
Outreach workers and peer navigators play a crucial role in ensuring that everyone has access to the services they need. The Relational Outreach and Engagement Model offers a four-stage framework of approach, companionship, partnering, and mutuality practices, that lead from the isolation of distress and despair to stability in the community. Teams of outreach workers and system navigators in the community assure that the most marginalized and difficult to serve are engaged and have access to care. O&E staff help provide training and education in the neighborhoods they serve, and they help build community mental health provider collaborations. O&E staff gather frontline data, help document effectiveness, identify barriers and gaps in services, and provide firsthand feedback from their experience with multiple pathways and services within the regional mental health system.
