Introduction and Overview
摘要
Whole community pathways to mental health offer a multi-layered approach to organizing behavioral health services in a coherent local or regional system. To address a demonstrable epidemic of distress and despair, seven specific initiatives are described—companionship, community mental health provider collaborations, prevention and early intervention, integrating primary care and behavioral health, expanding the reach of Certified Community Behavioral Health Centers, strengthening intensive community and supported recovery services, and developing robust outreach and engagement staff in our local communities. These seven pathways build from the ground up, are proactive, cooperative, and effective, use resources wisely and lead to sustainable health and wellness. Functioning together, the seven pathways in the Whole Community Mental Health framework aim to end the epidemic of distress and despair by creating a fabric of human connection and care in which we all flourish.
