This section reviewed the assessment, risk factors, and management associated with somatic symptom and related disorders, such as somatic symptom disorder, illness anxiety disorder, functional neurological symptom disorder, psychological factors affecting other medical conditions (PFAOMC), and factitious disorder. Case examples were presented for illness anxiety disorder (hypochondriasis), functional neurological symptom disorder (conversion disorder), and factitious disorder.
