ThisSupply chain transparency chapter introduces FARMILY, a blockchain-based solution design to address traceability and transparency challenges in global food supply chainsSupply chain. Traditional supply chain management systems often operate in isolated silos, resulting in information asymmetry and eroding stakeholder trust. To address this, FARMILY uses Ethereum’s blockchain and Solidity smart contracts to automate and secure food supply chain tracking from farm to table. A functional prototype demonstrates reduced fraud risks and enhanced stakeholder trust through a scalable system integrating decentralized storage and QR-code verification for product authenticity and origin. Through empirical analysis of a functional prototype, this chapter demonstrates how blockchain technologyBlockchain technology can significantly reduce fraud risks and enhance trust among various stakeholders. FARMILY employs Solidity smart contracts and decentralized storage solutions, enabling scalable, transparent ecosystem where stakeholders can verify product authenticity and origin. By integrating QR-code technology with blockchain validation, the system offers consumers instant access to verified product histories. Its modular architecture ensures adaptability across diverse supply chainSupply chain contexts. The Proof-of-concept deployment reveals significant improvements in verification efficiency and traceability accuracy compared to traditional systems.
