The present paper considers the SSG/LRR- \(\omega \) turbulence model for the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations for separated shear flows. First, it addresses two modeling shortcomings: reattachment of thin free shear layers and wake flow subjected to a significant adverse pressure gradient. Then some future prospects for the modification of RANS models for turbulent boundary layers for aeronautical flows are described.

摘要

The present paper considers the SSG/LRR- \(\omega \) turbulence model for the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations for separated shear flows. First, it addresses two modeling shortcomings: reattachment of thin free shear layers and wake flow subjected to a significant adverse pressure gradient. Then some future prospects for the modification of RANS models for turbulent boundary layers for aeronautical flows are described.
