An Immersed Boundary Method (IBM) is implemented in the unstructured CFD software by ONERA, DLR, Airbus (CODA), using an automatic generation of nonconforming grids. The method is applied to steady turbulent simulations of a subsonic NACA0012 airfoil at several angles of attack and the transonic ONERA M6 wing, as well as to scale-resolving simulation of the Rudimentary Boeing Landing Gear. With results being widely consistent with reference data from body-fitted simulations and available validation data, the method is shown to offer a useful alternative to body-fitted methods.

摘要
