It is not easy for the author, who was born and raised in northern Argentina, to tell the story of her journey to peace. The journey covers more than 50 years of learning from day-to-day happenings and watching the country swing between military government, autocratic civilian rule, and somewhat more liberal and progressive governance. Furthermore, it is a story about a peace seeker and knowledge seeker who has now emerged as a global leader in the fields of peace education and peace research. This chapter attempts to tell this story and inform as to how peace can be built brick by brick by government officials working in community development and justice sectors. It also provides information about the contribution of daily happenings, meetings with peace scholars and activists, and passionately working with regional and global peace studies organizations in the making of a peace leader. It also narrates the hopes and fears of a politically conscious person and her thinking about how the world can made more just and more peaceful.
