My chief aim in this book is to argue that African metaphysics, which is characterized by force, and process metaphysics, which is characterized by becoming, are similar on several fronts. I contend that the birth of a wave of intellectual exchange among specialists in the two areas must be encouraged. To accomplish this, intercultural and comparative methodologies are necessary for assessing the principal claims of scholars in these metaphysical orientations and to bring them into a conversation. Such a feat will go a long way to correct the history of misrepresentation and distortion which both metaphysical theories have suffered and endured. This chapter serves as an introduction to the content of this book and serves as an avenue for the content of each of the parts and all of the chapters that are contained in this book.

摘要
