This study explored the applicability of Şile cloth, a traditional woven product produced in Turkey, in contemporary menswear fashion through an applied design study. The research process explored the historical development of Şile cloth, its weaving characteristics, production processes, and its use in the contemporary fashion industry, creating a theoretical framework. In the application process, a five-piece capsule collection, inspired by the natural structure and simple aesthetics of Şile cloth, was designed for modern men’s fashion. A selected piece from the designs was technically drawn, a pattern was created, and a prototype was produced. This study is believed to be beneficial in both preserving cultural values and mitigating the environmental problems created by the rapid changes in fashion consumption that have accompanied the rise of Şile cloth, typically associated with women’s clothing, as an aesthetic and functional material in menswear. This work aligns with sustainable design principles and contributes to the widespread adoption of Şile cloth, a material typically associated with women’s clothing.

摘要
