It distinguishes between leadership and management, highlighting how leadership centers on influence, communication, and change. The chapter explores trait and behavioral theories, emphasizing the learned nature of interpersonal and task-related behaviors. Situational leadership and path–goal theory illustrate how leaders adjust to varying circumstances and resource availability. The role of charismatic and transformational leadership is discussed, with attention to how leaders inspire ethical behavior, loyalty, and vision. The chapter also explores leader–member exchange theory and the impact of trust and relational dynamics. Contemporary issues such as globalization, ethics, diversity, and gender are addressed, illustrating how leadership practices must adapt to cultural and organizational complexity. The chapter concludes that effective leadership depends on learned skills, ethics, and responsiveness to situational and follower needs.
