The phenomenon of lifelong learning refers to all kinds of skills that could be relevant in personal, social or employment-related fields. It is already a part of the legal framework on a national, an international and a European level and thus far more than a social necessity or a purely political agenda. At the same time, however, existing legislative activities can be classified as rather cautious. Existing regulations are predominantly vague and, in some cases, not legally binding. The question therefore arises as to what requirements occur de lege lata within labour law. This chapter is devoted to an in-depth examination of the existing legal framework to determine the legal significance of the concept of lifelong learning to find out what role lifelong learning could play in the world of work in the future.

摘要
