This chapter explores the relationship between labour law and lifelong learning and how lifelong learning could be perceived as a component of modern labour law systematics. After illustrating the internal and external criteria of labour law as a branch of law, lifelong learning is analysed from three main dimensions: lifelong learning during employment relationship, the role of social partners and lifelong learning measures in the context of labour market measures. The chapter presents two main conclusions. First, labour law should be understood more broadly than in the traditional sense so that labour law should cover labour market law and labour market related legal phenomena. Second, the regulation of lifelong learning can already be seen as a component of modern labour law, and therefore it should be emphasised more strongly in labour law research and labour law systematics.

摘要
